Betting Glossary — Know Your Terms

Asian Handicap

A form of betting popular across Asia where a stronger team is given a virtual deficit (handicap) to level the playing field. It eliminates the draw option, giving bettors only two outcomes to consider.

Over-Under (Totals)

A bet on whether the combined score of both teams in a game will be over or under a number set by the sportsbook. For example, betting "over 8.5" in an NBA game means you need at least 9 points combined in any given quarter.

Odds Formats

Odds can be shown as decimal (1.85), fractional (17/20), or American (-115). Decimal odds are most common in Philippine sportsbooks and easiest to calculate — simply multiply your stake by the decimal to get total return.

RTP (Return to Player)

The percentage of total wagered money a slot machine pays back over time. An RTP of 96% means for every ₱100 wagered, the game returns ₱96 on average over millions of spins — not per individual session.

House Edge

The mathematical advantage the casino holds on every bet. A house edge of 2% means the casino keeps ₱2 for every ₱100 wagered over the long run. Lower house edge games (like baccarat at ~1%) are more player-friendly.

Wagering Requirement
